Reread the story, "Homework Help," on p. 19 of Reading Street. Stop after each paragraph and make notes about Anna's problem, her ideas for solving the problem, the climax of the story, and the way in which the problem is resolved.

Think about the question posed in the beginning of the lesson: How do you meet the challenges of learning? Record two questions about people who have greatly influenced education. For example, who wrote the first dictionary? You will investigate these questions in the next lesson.

If your student needs to review how to identify different parts of a story, have him complete the second activity listed, which directs him to the story, "Homework Help," on p. 19 in Reading Street.
