Preparing for Life after High School

Connections Academy is committed to helping all students prepare for success after high school. Today, students need a broad education and 21st century skills to ensure successful long-term careers. Fortunately, students no longer need to choose between the academic courses needed for college and a vocational/technical program.

The Career Technical Education (CTE) courses offered by Connections Academy schools allow students to combine both college preparation and workforce skills development into one customized education program. CTE courses encourage students to explore and prepare for careers in finance, marketing, psychology, criminal justice, and more.

Students enrolled in our CTE courses gain thorough technical knowledge and skills training, supplemented by a strong academic foundation and real-world experience. Our programs of study are organized by career clusters, which include distinct groupings of occupations and industries based on the knowledge and skills they require. These clusters branch into career pathways to help students narrow their interests further and design an education plan for achieving career goals.

The U.S. Department of Education found that students enrolled in CTE programs have a high school graduation rate of more than 90 percent, compared to the average national freshman graduation rate of 75 percent. Additionally, 70 percent of students concentrating in CTE areas stayed in post-secondary education or transferred to a four-year degree program.

More Courses for Diverse Student Interests

Connections Academy currently offers more than 30 CTE courses. The large selection of courses gives students an opportunity to discover their interests and aptitudes and provides a clear instructional route toward a successful future in their chosen career, profession, or college education.
